Antelope study #5 in colored pencil
Well friends, this ends my antelope study. I hope you've enjoyed it.
Interestingly, delving into this subject was never meant to result in accomplished works of art. Instead it was always about the forms and shapes of the animals, the quality of natural things, and the use of colored pencils.
This last example originally turned out sort of dull, so once again I played around with Photoshop features just to see how I could change it a bit.
Thanks for stopping by. Don't be afraid to leave a comment on your way out!

Antelope study #4 in colored pencil
Hey, friends.
Next in line for my antelope study is this guy. He looks the way I feel - like just lazing around a bit. In fact, I think I will...
Strathmore paper. Lyra colored pencils.

Antelope study #3 in colored pencil
Knowing that winter is well on its way, it is easy to catch on to how this guy feels.
He's FREEZING and not happy about getting out of bed for a potty break. At times like these, I'm glad I'm not an antelope!
Strathmore paper. Colored pencil. A smidge of Photoshop fun (...because I really didn't like the original...).

Antelope study #2 in colored pencil
Some might think this scene... lacks taste.
The natural world doesn't worry about offending our sensitive human sensibilities, and neither will I (often :^).
The study of the animal's form and color is the purpose behind the series. It's a magnificent creature, isn't it?
Strathmore paper. Prismacolor Verithin pencils. Enjoy!

Antelope study #1 in colored pencil
Colored pencils are a favorite medium of mine. They are easy to use, portable, and built up correctly... give brilliant color.
This study of an Antelope was painted on Strathmore drawing paper using Prismacolor Verithin pencils.

For your listening enjoyment
Music these days mostly makes me want to... do harmful things to my radio. That said, I ALWAYS have my eyes open for something fresh.
And..... being the really great guy I am, I thought I'd share! Unless you have something against fantastic music- you're gonna love this!
Let me know what ya thought.

I saw a winter scene and painted what I saw
Decorating a cottage? Unique wall hangings are always a nice touch.
The result?
A happy client!
| Beginning of work |
This commissioned work was a bit a a challenge: keep the client's old rusty timber saw "rustic", but make the paint stick to it.
Fortunately, I know a few paint chemists and they had a quick solution for my problem.
